Looking for part-time work since driving events have dried up for the year. Looking for a "real" job seems so soul sucking. My bills and fiance don't care however.

Any suggestions? I'm looking for something in the metro-Atlanta area that is reasonable. Don't have to make much, but want to be part to full-time through next year.

For my problems, here is a race/street car: An Evans Series 1.

Do you mind me asking what you did before? You mention driving events have dried up for the year.

No problem, I have been contracting with several event companies that produce consumers driving events. I help facilitate the construction of the tracks (coned courses in parking lots mostly), running of the event which includes, but is not limited to, driving participants in a specific car while highlighting specific details, right seating with participants, and generally ensuring participants leave with a positive memory of the event and a positive perspective of the brand.

Some events are more driving specific than others, but all require understanding of vehicle dynamics, ability to hurry up and wait for long periods of time, a racing background, have in-depth product knowledge and ability to relate well with the consumers and participants.

Usually these types of events happen during the spring through the fall. Then it's the long, cold winter as far as work is concerned. Auto show events used to keep us afloat during the cold months, but the manufacturers have either cut these programs or not provided enough budget to hire pro drivers.

What manufacturers have you worked for? I've attended a lot of those kinds of events.

I've worked with Audi, Lexus, Chrysler, BMW, Toyota, Hyundai. That's all I can remember at the moment.

Which events have you done this year?

Were you at Pebble Beach? I was at the Audi and BMW events. I did the Lexus IS event that they had in different parts of the country. That's about it.

No, I wasn't at Pebble Beach (Definitely wish I was. I love the Monterey Peninsula).

However, I did work the entire Lexus IS tour, so I definitely was at the event you attended. In which city(ies) did you attend the Lexus IS event?

I was at the San Mateo Convention Center during that event in the parking lot.

That was the first city we did. How did you enjoy it?

I loved it, even though I didn't win the autocross or get the ride in the LFA. However, I did get to learn how good the GS and LS F-Sports were and drive almost everything in the entry luxury segment. Not to mention that the food was good as well.
